The Biographical Profile of Dr. Rosalind Flanigan Operton
Dr. Rosalind Flanigan Operton was born the fourth of eleven to children to Mr. and Mrs. Willie James Flanigan of Hanceville, Alabama.
She attended Hanceville High School and later received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Birmingham Southern College. Rosalind earned her Master’s Degree and Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Mississippi State University. Dr. Operton has served as a teacher, instructional facilitator, assistant principal, principal and is currently a professor of educational leadership at Mississippi State University, Meridian.
Dr. Operton has been married to Bishop Zachary Operton for 32 years and has served God’s people with him all of that time.
She became a licensed evangelist in 1986 at the Liberty Church of God in Warrior Alabama. She is the first lady of Prince of Peace Christian Fellowship Church, the South-Central Regional Women’s leader of Global United Fellowship and United in Christ Christian Fellowship. Her civic and social memberships include: Zeta Phi Beta sorority, a Board Member of the Mississippi Alliance of Arts Education and an Educational Leadership member of the Teacher Educational Council.
Dr. Operton loves God’s children and lives by the Motto: “ Only what you do for Christ will last.”
